A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

A time to hate - e.g., sin, lusts, any person or thing that comes between us and God (); i:e., to love God so much more, as to seem in comparison to hate 'father and mother,' when coming between us and God. There is a time when God inclines the world to love His people (), and a time when the world is permitted to hate them (, and ). God again restores His people to love (; ; ; ; especially ). So hereafter (; Isaiah 60:15). Time of war ... peace - (.) "Peace," for which the Church and the groaning creation cry and sigh, forms the grand conclusion. The Lord will give it fully in His time (; ; ; ; ; ; ).
