Proverbs 18:13

He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame unto him. He that answereth a matter before he heareth (it) - i:e., before he understandeth what the other hath said. So 'hear' means understand, .

It (is) folly and shame unto him - ( Sir 11:8 , 'Answer not before thou hast heard the cause, neither interrupt men in the midst of their talk.') Self-seeking and self-importance are generally the cause of such interruptions.
