A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood. The "proud look" - literally, 'haughty eyes' (; ; ) - stands first; as it is often characteristic of the idle and froward (though such a one is utterly without anything to be proud of, ); and it especially "soweth discord" (). , on the contrary, puts "lowliness" first, as being the basis of all other graces.
