Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them. Psalms 137:1 describes the hungering and thirsting of the true sons and daughters of Zion for the holy city. Literal hunger and thirst they did not experience in Babylon, if we may judge from the fact that those whose souls had no panting after the spiritual privileges of the Holy Land preferred remaining where they were.
