2 Chronicles 12:5

Then came Shemaiah, the prophet, the same man who had issued the warning against civil war, 2 Chronicles 11:3, to Rehoboam and to the princes of Judah that were gathered together to Jerusalem because of Shishak, having sought the security of the capital before the advance of the Egyptian army, and said unto them, Thus saith the Lord, Ye have forsaken Me, and therefore have I also left you in the hand of Shishak, the calamity which had befallen them was directly due to their apostasy, and therefore they might expect the subjection of their entire country if they continued in their evil way.
