He appointed also the king's portion of his substance for the burnt offerings, what the king contributed in sacrificial animals out of his own possessions, to wit, for the morning and evening burnt offerings, and the burnt offerings for the Sabbaths, when special sacrifices were required, and for the new moons, and for the set feasts, the great festivals of the Jewish Church, as it is written in the Law of the Lord, Numbers 28, 29; Leviticus 23; Deuteronomy 16.
