And when Absalom's servants, in their pursuit of the two messengers, came to the woman to the house, they said, Where is Ahimaaz and Jonathan? And the woman, purposely dissembling to shield the messengers, said unto them, They be gone over the brook of water, some creek in the neighborhood to which she pointed. And when they had sought and could not find them, they returned to Jerusalem.
