And Joab, the son of Zeruiah, a nephew of David and the general of his armies, and the servants of David, who had prepared for such an attack, went out and met together by the Pool of Gibeon, the two opposing armies meeting at the reservoir some six miles north of Jerusalem, and they sat down, encamped, the one on the one side of the pool, and the other on the other side of the pool.
