And the children of the Kenite, Moses' father-in-law, whom Moses had apparently persuaded to join Israel, Numbers 10:29, went up out of the city of palm trees, Jericho, Deuteronomy 34:3, with the children of Judah into the wilderness of Judah, which lieth in the south of Arad, a district about eight hours south of Hebron, whose king had attacked Israel during the march through the wilderness, Numbers 21:1; and they went and dwelt among the people, in the immediate neighborhood of Judah, with whom they were allied.
