for the showbread, that for the Holy Place, which was renewed every Sabbath, Leviticus 24:5, and for the continual meat-offering, and for the continual burnt offering, Numbers 28, 29, the regular sacrifices, both for week-days and for the holidays, of the Sabbaths, of the new moons, for the set feasts, and for the holy things, and for the sin-offerings to make an atonement for Israel, on the annual Day of Atonement, and for all the work of the house of our God. All these expenses were met with the annual tax of the Sanctuary which the people here imposed upon themselves.
