2 Chronicles 36:21

To fulfil the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her sabbaths: [for] as long as she lay desolate she kept sabbath, to fulfil threescore and ten years.

Ver. 21. To fulfil the word of the Lord.] See Jeremiah 25:9; Jeremiah 25:12; Jer 29:10 Daniel 9:2 .

Until the land had enjoyed her Sabbaths.] As had likewise been foretold. Leviticus 26:34,35 ; Lev 23:32 The land was eased from the wicked weight of such inhabitants, which brought upon it heavy curses, and toiled and tired it out with continual tillage.
