Ver. 17. In the seven and twentieth year.] Of Jeconiah's captivity, as Ezekiel ordinarily counteth, or of Nebuchadnezzar's reign, say the Jewish doctors; a whereas Tyre was overthrown, some part of Egypt wasted, Jeremiah and Baruch taken into his protection.

The word of the Lord came.] This was Ezekiel's last sermon, his swan song, showing wherefore and whereby Egypt should be so laid waste.
