Jesus entered Jerusalem for the last Passover -- John 12:12-19: As Jesus entered Jerusalem the people took palm branches and went out to greet him. They shouted, "Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord." Jesus rode into the city on a donkey to fulfill yet another prophecy. "Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass." (Ezekiel 9:9) The crowds were growing for Jesus because he had raised Lazarus and the Jews said, "There is nothing that can be done! Everyone in the world is following Jesus."
