6. πεντακοσίοις�. This kind of appearance was one about which there could be no mistake or illusion. It either happened, or if not, its falsehood must have been capable of being exposed. St Paul must have seen and conversed with many of these persons.

μένουσιν. Observe the present. ‘They are still alive,’ as we should say.
