ἀδελφὸς … ἀδελφόν … πατὴρ τέκνον. The history of persecutions for religion affords many instances of this. It is true even of civil disputes. Thucydides, describing the horrors of the Corcyrean sedition, says (III. 81, 82), καὶ γὰρ πατὴρ παῖδα� … καὶ τὸ ξυγγενὲς τοῦ ἑταιρικοῦ�.

ἐπαναστήσονται. ἐπανάστασις is defined by the Scholiast on Thuc. III. 39 to be ὅταν τινες τιμώμενοι καὶ μὴ�—inexcusable and heartless rebellion.
