κράξας φωνῇ μεγάλῃ. Perhaps an inarticulate cry is meant, or perhaps the sixth word from the cross, τετέλεσται. John 19:30.

ἀφῆκεν κ.τ.λ. As in classical Greek, Hdt. IV. 190, φυλάσσοντες ἐπεὰν�: and Eur. Hec. 571, ἑπεὶ δʼ ἀφῆκε πνεῦμα. St Luke preserves the exact words, πάτερ, εἰς χεῖράς σου παρατίθεμαι τὸ πνεῦμά μου (Luke 23:46).
