διηκόνουν, from διακονέω. The Attic form of the imperfect is ἐδιακόνουν; but διηκόνουν is possibly a right reading, Eur. Cycl. 406. διακονεῖν is strictly to ‘serve at table,’ ‘minister food,’ hence the appropriateness of the word in its use, Acts 6:2.
