Jehoahaz his son We are told (chap. 2 Kings 13:1) that Jehu's death, and the accession of Jehoahaz, was in the three and twentieth year of Joash, king of Judah. As Jehu reigned twenty-eight years he must have been on the throne about fiveor sixyears when Joash was made king. In chapter 2 Kings 12:1 the accession of Joash is placed in the seventhyear of Jehu, but from the way in which the Jews reckoned the regnal years of their kings there need be no contradiction between these statements.
