and the King&c. Or, that the King of glory may come in. The Ark, "which is called by the Name, even the name of the Lord of hosts that sitteth upon the cherubim" (2 Samuel 6:2) was the symbol of Jehovah's majesty and the pledge of His Presence among His people (Numbers 10:35-36). When the ark was lost, "the glory departed from Israel" (1 Samuel 4:21). Cp. Psalms 19:1, note.
