To see his light. We cooperate with God in our salvation, and as we reach out to him through faith, he also reaches out to us. As we make ourselves receptive to his truth, he opens our minds. It is a paradox that the more we learn about God, the more we are able to learn (1 Corinthians 2:14). His light makes it possible for us to see (1) the hope we have as spiritual descendants of Abraham; (2) how rich are the wonderful blessings God has for us in eternity; (3) how very great is his power which sets us free from guilt and punishment and will raise us from death! This power. See 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 and notes.
