1 Pet. 1:4. "To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you." This is probably here mentioned because those that the Apostle wrote this epistle to were strangers scattered abroad, verse 1, out of their own land - the land of Canaan, not possessing that earthly inheritance of old promised to Israel, and cast out by their brethren according to the flesh for being Christians.
