Ecclesiastes 10:5

5 There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, as an error which proceedeth fromb the ruler:

Ecc. 10:5. i.e. To Jerusalem, eminently called the City: the city to which all Israel was to go three times a year to worship God, and wait on Him for His blessings in the Temple. The meaning of the Spirit of God probably is this - that although there be innumerable kinds of sinners that are intending to go to heaven, and endeavoring to find out ways of their own thither, consistent with their wickedness and the folly that reigns in them, and innumerable such ways are invented, yet they all labor in vain. "Strait is the gate," etc. "Many there be that seek," etc.
