John 17:24

24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

John 17:24. "Also." - Query - What doth this particle 'also' refer to? Ans. Christ had before prayed for His own glory. This He began with in verse 1. This He repeats in verse 5. And this He speaks of in the verses immediately preceding, verses 22, 23, He speaks of the glory which God had given. Here He prays that God would not only glorify Him, but the disciples also with Him and in His glory. He here explains His request that God would glorify Him, signifying that He meant not Himself singly, but with His disciples.
