Mat. 14:24, 25. "But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary. And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea." This which we are told of Christ shows what He was - viz., a Divine person. For it is spoken of in Job 9:8, as a property or act of God, "that He treadeth on the waves of the sea." Christ here not only walks on the waters of the sea, but that when it is tossed with high waves, He treadeth on its boisterous waves. For it is said here that the ship was tossed with waves, and it is said in John 6:18, that the sea arose by reason of a great wind that blew. Mat. 14:24-27
