Pro. 30:19, 20. The way of a man with a maid, and the way of an adulterous woman, are here distinct instances. In the criminal intercourse of a man with a maid, the maid was liable to a discovery by some effects that were left in her body, at least it is so generally. But the man might conceal his wickedness - it might be hid as much as the way of a serpent on a rock; and when a married woman is guilty of adultery, then the woman may conceal her wickedness, as well as the adulterer his. See POOL, Synop.
