You can read God’s promise in verse 8. Everyone will receive these good things from God, as they trust Christ. God will forgive them. God will change their lives. And they will receive the Holy Spirit in their lives.

The laws and God’s promise

v15 Brothers and sisters, let me explain this from ordinary life. Suppose that someone makes and signs a legal agreement. Afterwards, nobody can stop or change that agreement. v16 God made promises to Abraham and to his *descendant. The *Scripture does not say ‘to his *descendants’. That would refer to many people. Instead, *Scripture says ‘to his *descendant’. That refers to one person, and that person is Christ. v17 This is what I mean. God made his agreement with Abraham. Then 430 years later God gave his laws to Moses. But the laws did not change or cancel God’s promise to Abraham. v18 We do not get God’s gifts because we obey the laws. If that happened, we would not receive God’s gifts because of God’s promise. But God was kind to Abraham and made a promise to him.
