Chapter 6

Christians should help each other

v1 My Christian brothers and sisters, a *sin may overcome someone. Those among you whom the Holy Spirit guides should show the person the right way. But you must be kind and gentle with him or her. And you too must be careful that *sin does not tempt you. v2 Help each other when you have troubles. Then you will obey the law that Christ gave. v3 Someone may not be important. But he may consider that he is important. That person is lying to himself. v4 Each person should examine his own behaviour. If it is good, then that person can be pleased with himself. But you should not compare yourself with anyone else. v5 Everyone must be responsible for his or her own life.

v6 If someone is teaching you about God’s words, you should share all good things with your teacher.

v7 Understand this clearly. You cannot cheat God. A farmer harvests the same crops as he sows. v8 So a man who lives by his own desires will die, because of his desires. But a man who lives by the Spirit will always live, because of the Spirit. v9 Do not become tired as you do good deeds for other people. Do not give up. Then, at God’s time, you will receive what you deserve, like the harvest. v10 So, as often as you can, do good things for everyone. But especially do good things for the people who belong to God’s family.
