2 Chronicles 20:20-23

2 CHRONICLES—NOTE ON 2 Chronicles 20:20 The wilderness of Tekoa is about 12 miles (19 km) south of Jerusalem. Jehoshaphat’s call to faith is based on Isaiah 7:9. Believe here means the active and obedient trust that God rewards (see Hebrews 11:6), acting on the revealed word of his prophets, including Jahaziel. Ambush may mean either angelic agents (see 2 Chronicles 32:21) or men (see Judges 9:25), in which case suspicions among the coalition forces lead to panic and their own destruction (2 Chronicles 20:23; see 1 Samuel 14:20).
