EZEKIEL—NOTE ON Ezekiel 9:3 The seventh angel, in the role of scribe, puts a mark on the foreheads (v. Ezekiel 9:4) of those who are faithful to the Lord. Preserving a remnant has been a feature of chs. Ezekiel 4:1. Here, the mark is the Hebrew letter taw. In the script of Ezekiel’s day it would be an X. Ancient Christian interpretation saw this symbol as an anticipation of the cross.
