Psalms 111:1-10

Psalm PSALM—NOTE ON Psalms 111:1. This hymn of praise celebrates the great works the Lord has done for his people. He has called them to be his own, and has cared for and protected them. Singing the psalm reminds the people of these deeds and encourages them to respond with a “fear of the LORD” (v. Psalms 111:10). Psalms 111:1 go together. Psalms 111:10 closes with the reference to the “fear of the LORD” and Psalms 112:1 begins with “the man who fears the LORD.”
