SONG OF SOLOMON—NOTE ON Song of Solomon 2:6 embraces. Sometimes this term refers to sexual activity (e.g., Proverbs 5:20). It can also describe the embrace of affection (e.g., Genesis 29:13; Genesis 33:4). Here it is not necessarily sexual, although the context would indicate great intimacy. These lines are repeated almost exactly in Song of Solomon 8:3.
