Luke 10:17-20

Return of the Seventy. No such report of the doings of the Twelve, and of their Master's congratulations, is given in any of the Gospels (cf. Mark 6:30-31). It seems as if Lk. attached more importance to the later mission, as Baur accused him of doing under the influence of theological tendency (Pauline universalism). But probably this report was one of the fruits of his careful research for memorabilia of Jesus: “a highly valuable tradition arising on Jewish-Christian soil, and just on account of its strangeness trustworthy” (J.
