After the return. ἐν τῷ ἐπανελθεῖν : ἐν with the aorist infinitive, usually with present, but frequently with aorist in Lk. = on his return, he takes action at once (vide Burton, M. and T., § 109). εἶπε φωνηθῆναι = commanded (jussit, Vulgate) to be called; εἶπε with infinitive, instead of ἵνα with subjunctive, as in some places, e.g., Matthew 4:3. τίς τί διεπρ. (T.R.) is two questions in one: who had gained anything and what τί διεπραγματεύσαντο (W.H [153]), what they had gained.
