ἐσιώπα καὶ, etc.: one of Mk.'s dualisms, yet not idle repetition = He maintained the silence He had observed up to that point (imperfect), and He answered nothing to the high priest's pointed question (aorist). πάλιν : the high priest makes another attempt to draw Jesus into some self-condemning utterance, this time successfully. τοῦ εὐλογητοῦ, the Blessed One, here only, absolutely, as a name for God. Usually, an epithet attached to Κύριος (Wünsche, Beiträge).
