χωρίον, a place in the sense of a property or farm = villa in Vulgate, ager, Hilary, Grundstück, Weizsäcker's translation. Γεθσημανῆ, probably = גַּת שֶׁסֶן, an oil press. Descriptions of the place now identified with it in Robinson's Researches, Furrer's Wanderungen, and Stanley's Sinai and Palestine. καθίσατε αὐτοῦ : Jesus arranges that a good distance shall be between Himself and the body of the disciples when He enters the valley of the shadow of death. He expects no help from them. ἐκεῖ, there! pointing to the place visible in the moonlight.
