The Sadducees, starting from the Levirate law given by Moses (Deu 25:5), agreeably to a patriarchal usage (Genesis 38) which is still allowed by many Eastern peoples, seek to cover with ridicule the idea of a resurrection; ἀντιλέγοντες : who oppose (ἀντί), maintaining that (λέγοντες).

The whole statement Luke 20:29-33 has in it a touch of sarcasm.
