But if. revelation be made to another sitting by, let the first keep silence.

'let the first keep silence' -'round off his speaking and stop. This he is to do on the assumption that God wouldn't reveal something to the prophet at that point unless it had priority over what was now being said.' (McGuiggan p. 184)

This verse also reveals that. truly inspired speaker was also in control of his gift. Seeing that the prophet could stop his lesson (even though he wasn't finished), and sit down in silence to listen to another man, reveals that nobody was rolling on the floor or out of control when the Holy Spirit came upon them.
