1 Timothy 5:25 “Deeds that are good are quite evident, and those which are otherwise cannot be concealed”: The term “otherwise” in this verse means of the same quality, that is good works, but good works are not that evident. This is another reason why Timothy needs to be very thorough in the process of appointing men to the eldership. He might miss. very qualified man, who simply has been busy in the background, yet those good deeds cannot be hidden for long. Eventually, people do find out about the Christian who has been working quietly and eagerly.
