It is good not to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor to do anything whereby thy brother stumbleth.

Romans 14:22 The faith which thou hast, have thou to thyself before God. Happy is he that judgeth not himself in that which he approveth.

'The faith' -the faith under consideration here is one's own personal conviction about eating meats, exercise it in. situation were 'weak brethren' are not present.

This is not 'the faith of the gospel', for this is to be shared (Mark 16:15). And neither is this. 'believe what you want to believe' (2 Thessalonians 2:10).

'have thou to thyself before God'-i.e. in private exercise your right to eat meat.

'approveth' -1381. dokimazo dok-im-ad'-zo; from 1384; to test (literally or figuratively); by implication, to approve: -allow, discern, examine,. like, (ap-)prove, try.

This is not. subjective opinion. The man that does not condemn himself in what he eat's, can do so because HE REALIZES THAT GOD DOES NOT CONDEMN HIM! (1 Timothy 4:3). There is an objective standard of truth behind this man's 'allowing of himself to eat'.

Happy is the person who has been able to bring their conscience in line with the instructions of God.
