The shorter reading VIhsou/, which is supported by a* B 2 33 35 226 356 442 823 1611 1908 2004 vg goth al, is to be preferred. In view of the presence of the longer reading in other Pauline benedictions ( Romans 16:24; 2 Corinthians 13:13; Galatians 6:18; Philippians 4:23; 1 Thessalonians 5:28; 2 Thessalonians 3:18; Philemon 1:25), as well as the natural proclivity of scribes to expand the sacred name, it is perhaps remarkable that any witnesses should have resisted such pressures.
