Acts 1:15 avdelfw/n

The Western text (D ite, gig, p Cyprian Augustine) has substituted maqhtw/n for avdelfw/n of a A B C al. The reason is obvious: to prevent the reader from confusing these “brethren” with the brothers of Jesus (ver. Acts 1:14). (The word maqhth,j is used nowhere else in the first five chapters of Acts.) For the same reason the scribe of the Bodmer Papyrus of Acts seems to have substituted avposto, lwn (î74vid).
