The words eivj qa,naton, strongly supported by a A B C G K P Y 33 81 330 614 it^{g, 61} syr^{h, pal} cop^bo arm^mss eth al, are absent from a few witnesses, chiefly versional and patristic (D 1739* it^{d, r} vg syr^p cop^sa arm Origen^lat Ambrosiaster Ephraem). Since the phrase seems to be necessary as a correlative to the following phrase eivj dikaiosu,nhn, a majority of the Committee was disposed to regard their omission as an unintentional oversight.
