The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. “The last Adam,” as a name for the promised Messiah, is not unknown to the rabbinical writers, though that feature in His constitution which is here expressed His becoming the second Head of humanity, who would more than undo the evil done by the first was never dreamt of by them.
