For a few days— For a short time; during our childhood. They kept us under discipline, as they thought most proper. The phrase for a few days, may be applied both to our earthly parents, and our Heavenly Father; and it contains a beautiful and comfortable intimation, that this whole life, when compared with our future being, is but as a few days; indeed infinitely less than the days of childhood to those of the longer life of man upon earth. For the last clause, see 1 Peter 1:15. 1 John 3:2.
