This is an unhappy expression, bringing in the name of God where it does not occur. In the O.T. it is chalilah, 'far be it.' Genesis 44:7, Genesis 1:44, etc. In the N.T. mh genoito, 'let it not be.' Romans 3:4, Romans 1:3, Romans 1:3, etc.
