6. Son of Hilkiah, priest of Anathoth: the writer of the Book of Jeremiah. His history is contained in his prophecy. He was carried to Egypt by the rebellious Jews and his end is not recorded. 2 Chronicles 35:25; 2 Chronicles 1:36, 2 Chronicles 1:36, 2 Chronicles 1:36; Ezra 1:1; Jer. 1 — Jeremiah 51.
