1. An Amorite chieftain, who, with his brothers Aner and Eshcol, was confederate with Abram. Genesis 14:13, Genesis 1:14.
2. Place connected with Machpelah and Hebron, the name of which is derived from the above chief. Genesis 13:18; Genesis 18:1; Genesis 23:17, Genesis 1:23; Genesis 35:27; Genesis 49:30.
