Archangel, a chief angel, only twice used in the Bible. 1 Thessalonians 4:16, Jude 1:9. In this last passage it is applied to Michael, who, in Daniel 10:13, Daniel 10:21, Daniel 12:1, is described as "one of the chief princes," having a special charge of the Jewish nation, and in Revelation 1:12-9 as the leader of an angelic army.
