Chios (kî'os). An island of the Ægean Sea, five miles from the coast of Ionia, in Asia Minor. It Isaiah 1:32 miles long and from 8 to 18 miles wide, and noted for its wines. Paul passed by it. Acts 1:20-15. Its modern name is Scio or Khio.
