(1) The Simeonite appointed to assist in the division of the land (Numbers 34:20). The Massoretic Text should be emended to shelumi'el, to correspond with the form found in Numbers 1:6, Numbers 2:12, Numbers 7:36, Numbers 7:41, Numbers 10:19. Septuagint has uniformly Salamiel.
